On 6 March, Izidora Marković Vukadin, NaTour4CChange project lead, and Leona Matotek (Institut za turizam) presented a scientific paper at the professional and scientific conference “Maksimalno na strani prirode”, organized by JU Priroda Grada Zagreba in Zagreb.
The paper, titled “Integration of Nature-Based Solutions into Strategic and Management Documents for Climate Change Adaptation of Urban and Peri-Urban Areas,” explores how nature-based solutions (NBS) can support climate change adaptation in cities and their surrounding peri-urban areas.
The study examines ways in which nature-based solutions can be systematically integrated into strategic and management documents, helping to strengthen the resilience of urban areas to climate-related risks while also improving environmental quality and contributing to more sustainable urban development.
Izidora Marković Vukadin, Mira Zovko, Leona Matotek, and Hrvoje Mataković are the authors of the paper.
This research was developed within the framework of NT4CC and the internal scientific project Commitment. Both projects focus on strengthening capacities for climate change adaptation, promoting the use of nature-based solutions in spatial planning, and supporting the development and integration of sustainable tourism practices.
