This session will explore the intersections of natural heritage protection and sustainable tourism development from a policy perspective. Participants will learn how the Interreg Euro-MED Missions are contributing to coastal and marine governance through concrete, project-driven actions.

The first segment of the event will offer a brief overview of the two Missions and their core policy outputs:

  • Sustainable Tourism Mission & D4T Project:
Policy recommendations from the White Paper on Sustainable Tourism Governance in the Euro-MED Area, with a focus on tourism and climate adaptation.

  • Natural Heritage Mission & Dialogue4Nature Project:
Recommendations supporting the implementation of Target 2 of the Global Biodiversity Framework—restoring 30% of degraded ecosystems by 2030—and the Nature Restoration Regulation, with emphasis on Mediterranean marine and coastal areas.

The second part will feature short presentations from six Thematic Projects (TPs) that are actively contributing to these policy recommendations through local and regional actions.
