THE PARTNERSHIP

Plan Bleu is one of the Regional Activity Centres of the Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP) of United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), put in place by France since 1977. Plan Bleu produces studies and scenarios for the future in order to raise awareness of Mediterranean stakeholders and decision-makers regarding environment   and sustainable development issues in the region.

CPMR brings together more than 150 Regions from  24  States from the European Union and beyond. The organisation campaigns  in favour of a more balanced development of the European  territory. It operates both as a think tank and as a lobby for Regions. CPMR focuses mainly on social, economic and territorial  cohesion, maritime policies and blue growth, and  accessibility.

The International Union for Nature Conservation is a membership Union of government and civil society organisations working together to advance sustainable development and create a just world that values and conserves nature. IUCN-Med works to bridge gaps between science, policy, management and action in order to conserve nature and accelerate the transition towards sustainable development in the Mediterranean.

Andalusia is Spain’s second largest Autonomous Region. Axis between Europe and Africa and meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, the region has been coveted by many different cultures throughout history and prehistory. ANDTOUR promotes tourism, culture and sports in the region.

Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, after Sicily. It is located west of the Italian Peninsula, north of Tunisia and eastern Algeria, and immediately south of the French island of Corsica. RAS has legislational power on matters such as local police, agriculture, regional public works, urban planning, transport, hunting and fishing, tourism, libraries, industry, and energy. 

NATURA-JADERA’s main activities are protection of natural values, ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources determining and monitoring the state of nature (research and monitoring), prevention of human harmful interventions and disturbances in nature (surveillance), promotion and education regarding the protection of nature in the area under its management.

The Region of Crete is formed by the island of Crete and the nearby islands  and is one of the 13 regions of Greece. Crete is the largest Greek island and a landmark in the maritime crossroads between the West and the East, Europe and Africa.

HSPN is a nation-wide environmental NGO that has been continuously active since 1951. Its mission is to inform and sensitize both Greeks and those who love Greece for the country’s natural heritage of our country and to work for its protection. HSPN is the national operator of 5 FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) Programmes (Blue Flag, Green Key, Eco-Schools, Young Reporters for the Environment, and Learning About Forests).

The MPSV HNC performs administrative, professional and other tasks within the jurisdiction of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton related to protection and management of agriculture and forest land, utilization of natural resources, and management of surface and underground waters.
