Towards an EU climate-resilience roadmap for sustainable tourism

The event will bring together EU institutions, Mediterranean regions and destinations, tourism stakeholders among others to discuss how to strengthen climate resilience in tourism destinations through Nature-based Solutions, innovative governance models, and the implementation of the new EU Sustainable Tourism Strategy.
Hosted by MEP Nikolina Brnjac, the session will feature high-level representatives from the European Commission, regional authorities, EU tourism networks, and Mediterranean cooperation frameworks.
Key topics will include:
- Advancing climate-resilient tourism governance in the Mediterranean
- Scaling up Nature-based Solutions for tourism destinations
- Aligning EU tourism, climate, biodiversity, and cohesion policies
- Strengthening regional coordination and implementation mechanisms
- Defining future funding and policy priorities for the post-2027 period, in line with the new EU Tourism Strategy (to be published soon).
